Moving from homelessgamers.com/eveblog to www.homelessgamers.com Ill leave this up but new posts will be made at the new location
So I log in, kind of fired up to pop some rats and get a little sec status up, got my tunes going (Thank god for pandora) and life is good.
I land at the first belt, wow…a battleship. Cool. Warp to next belt…another battleship. Wow thats a fluke. Warp to next belt. 2 battlecruisers. WTF. Next belt one battlecruiser. At this point Im rather miffed.
My entire system is now full of badass high sec status npcs, that I cant kill. I managed to orbit a BC for about 45 minutes and got him to structure, then for some strange reason its like he found his shield booster, sky rocketed to full, and refused to drop below 50%.
Im going to have to bring some friends.
Where you wanted to grab your keyboard and use it as some form of bludgeoning instrument? So Im in my nice quite system, trying to rat peacefully and its being a royal pain cause I have the dps of fully cooked pasta.
I have to avoid anything bigger than a cruiser atm, but thats fine, I was used to that, working on getting my own cruiser so I can pop those BC’s at least. Well tonight I ran into a new nemesis. Click here to read more.. »
Well found myself a nice quiet system that doesnt get to much traffic, and have been trying to raise my sec status. So far seems like my ship can do just fine with frigs and cruiers, but BC’s and above are a bit to tough.
I need to get some Cap boosters into my station tomorrow, hopefully someone will fill my buy order, with that Ill be able to easily tank BC’s and kill them, but I simply dont have the DPS yet to touch a smaller BS. Working on increasing my gun skills now, but have tempted to just make the jump to a cruiser for the added DPS and better tank. Only downside is reduced mobility wich is pretty damn handy in lowsec.
Managed to change from -6.32 to -6.27, hopefully tomorrow I can drop into the -5 area.
It’s no secret that most games on the market today are Linear Growth games. By this I mean, you start at point A, and progress through levels / content towards an eventual ending spot. At each point your character gets a bit stronger, does more damage, can equip new toys, and usually has access to new areas. This style caters to racing to a certain point as fast as possible, usually doing something boring and repetitive like, grinding mobs, quests, faction, favor, low drop rate items, etc etc until a certain point is reached and one can do whatever one wants to do, be it end game raiding, pvp, pve…whatever.
Since most games on the market have this method of advancement, its no real mystery why the “masses” have such a hard time understanding the basic concept of EvE online, and other skill based games. With a linear mindset, you are more or less going to beat yourself bloody against a solid wall you cant break through, and will eventually burn out, or, be forced to change your mindset. Let me explain… Click here to read more.. »
So I have relocated to Jan currently, working on raising my sec status, and I have found something rather disheartening, my dps sucks…
So as far as I know, you get 1 sec increase every 15 minutes for the largest ship you kill in a system. If you change systems, you can get another bonus. So… 4 systems every 15 minutes, 4 sec boosts. Only issue with this, my current setup cant pop a Battleship. Granted, the battleship cant kill me either which is a plus I guess… but so far, if Im restricted to killing frigates and cruisers, this is going to take an extremely long time.
So I decided to take a little road trip up to some old hunting grounds in Lonetrek. However, now that I’m blinky red, getting 22 systems through high sec was going to be a challenge. I was fairly sure that concord was going to leave me alone, but the faction police were going to be a royal pain in the ass. After a little research on the forums, the consensus seemed to be that I had a 50/50 chance of being able to warp around in a frig.
What the hell, lets give it a shot.
So I started this project Monday thinking that I would actually be able to get into pvp, but that it would take me a while, and that I was most likely looking at a month or more before I would be getting close to what I was looking for.
Well, I couldnt have been more wrong. Click here to read more.. »
So after checking out Podlogs, I figured I’d give wordpress a shot. I havent used wordpress in a few years, and as much as I love joomla, it just isnt very well catered to a blog. Ill be updaing this blog from here on out with eve activities, and will be setting up a section for Armon Deacon here shortly.
